Stella
Author: Ivan Wilson
Chris and Stella grew up together fishing leaves in the small pond near their home. Although they were each separated by the natural fate of life as teenagers, the two friends never truly forgot about each other, despite their different upbringings.
Years later, upon visiting their old neighborhood and finding no trace of his childhood friend and no information about her whereabouts, Chris, now a kind-hearted local detective, takes it upon himself to find out what happened to Stella. Running from one unfortunate situation and colliding with the next, Stella has spiraled into a life of prison time, dangerous crime, narrow escapes, and homelessness. From the prisons to the back alleys, Chris is continuously left with more questions than answers about his friend. Can he find Stella before she winds up in inescapable danger?
Stella is a story about two childhood friends, on two completely different paths, each so close to reaching one another, yet so far away at the same time. A riveting story of friendship, illustrating the realities of living on the streets, Stella is a captivating must-read narrative resonating with those unable to catch a break in the world.
